Echoes of Light – Preview Concert at the Steinway House

On September 19, the Lyatoshynsky Trio presented its new program Echoes of Light at the Steinway House in Vienna – an exclusive preview ahead of their upcoming studio recordings.

With works by Claude Debussy, Gabriel Prokofiev, and Zoltan Almashi, the ensemble created a musical arc ranging from delicate youthful charm to deeply moving contemporary sounds. The program explores how light – as a symbol of hope, memory, and renewal – continues to live on in music. Two works received their Vienna premieres, a special gift for the audience.

A particularly powerful moment came with Zoltan Almashi’s Somewhere There Is Light, written during the war in Ukraine. The piece tells of darkness and pain – and of the shining hope that continues to glow even in the darkest of times.

The trio now heads to the studio to record this program. The album will be released in 2027 on Pentatone – an unforgettable evening and a first glimpse of this very special recording.
